The Birthday Blog

Our day started out with an early 7am for 7.30 breakfast...which arrived at 8.15!! Zambia time strikes again.

We left Fawlty Towers at 8.30 for our 15 minute walk to the Livingstone Rhinos pitches. A brisk set up was needed, with 4 pitches to prepare for today's matches. We then had to organise about 250 kids into their teams and get wrist bands on them. We were then ready for the tournament.

We started at about 1030 in the end and the tournament went smoothly without hiccups and was very laid back. Finishing just after 1 we headed back to Fawlty Towers on our 15 minute walk - with a heavy Gilbert kit bag, which had wheels but they don't work! We got back at 130 and the pool was open at 2.00. We jumped in for a quick 30 minute plunge before having pancakes glazed in lemon sauce and sugar before our river cruise at 330.

The views on the river cruise were astonishing, helped with bottomless soft drinks! James loved it and said he had to take a step back from the Fantas! The scenes were movie like. We saw nature of the Zambezi river of many hippos and crocodiles along the trip. Whilst ending the cruise at 630 and we had a good sing song on the bus ride back.

When we got back to home they sang happy birthday around the table and we had some lovely cake to finish. We watched some good news, with South Africa being in bad form ahead of the world cup, only beating Argentina 22-21!! All in all it was a very good and memorable birthday which will be hard to be topped!!
