Thursday -Attack of the animals!!
Hi from Lily and Kristiana!
Lily POV...
So far, Zambia has been a very eye opening experience. Today we visited some of the poorest schools in the North and met the children. Many of them were sitting on the floor as their schools can not even afford tables and chairs.
So far i have been helping count the scores and record the teams with Jasmine however tomorrow i am going to try and be a pitch manager.
Last night, Olivia and I found a huge ants nest in our room. It had migrated from Bens room next door and got into our pyjamas and hair. It was midnight when we decided to run to Cassie, Gloria and Kristi's chalet due to the swarm of fat red ants dancing in our duvet.
Tonight we got piazza from pizza inn which was really nice and reminded us of home!
PS:
Ava- Hello!! I'm okay! I miss you guys! xx
Darcey - Hello! Happy 17 months Thomas xx
Olivia - Hi Mum and Dad! Hope you're having a nice holiday!
Gloria - I got chased by a fat aggressive monkey ha ha LOL!!
Byeeeee
Lily
Kristiana POV
Hope all is good, missing you all, hope you miss me just as much!
Zambia has been a very beautiful experience! I have been opened to trying new foods and meeting some lovely young Zambian children and coaching them to learn tag rugby. The first couple of days I have met some lovely people and we experienced new cultures. On the first day we visited a church and we have been welcomed by lovely singing. The rest of the week, we have packed donation bags and managed rugby tournaments. On Tuesday we visited Zambia's national park where we saw lots of orphaned elephants. They were very cute!
Today, in the morning we were welcomed by monkeys and zebras in the camp, it was very very exciting! A monkey even peed in the porch of our chalet!!
The rest of the day we visited some of the poorer schools up in the north and saw the children's educational environment. It makes me think how lucky we are! This trip has already been a very humbling experience and I have learnt a lot about myself and others. I miss you all very much and can't wait to see all your annoying faces!
Lots of love,
Kristiana xx
Wow. What a great eye-opening experience you are all having. I'll be honest, those pics make me feel how fortunate we all are. Soooo humbled....
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing time you are all having (apart from ant party and monkey chasing)...its a highlight every evening to read your blogs and see the pictures..it must have been very humbling to see the children in their surroundings..keep up the good work... Miss you Ciara loved the TV report yesterday...
ReplyDeleteRe monkey weeing on porch of chalet. Out of interest (and probably worthy of serious discussion), if the monkey wee'd in the porch of the chalet, is it called a 'wild wee' or 'home/toilet trained' wee? Kids - Let us know your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Ben's 6 helpings of curry had anything to do with the Great Ant Migration? Well done all of you and make the most of this opportunity to see a different way if life.
ReplyDeleteFor Darcey from mum and dad: Hi Darcey, we both miss you lots and really hope you’re having a great time. We told Thomas about your message. Make sure you enjoy every day. Lots of love from Mum & Dad xxx

ReplyDeleteHard to look at these photos and not be moved. I imagine it was even harder for you all to see how little the children have, but how happy they are to be in school. Please tell us there are pictures of Gloria being chased by the monkey! And that the ants have made their way back to Ben ;) We miss you Lily! Make the most of this opportunity xxx
