Last Coaching Day and finished the Community Work!

Today was a normal start, breakfast at 07.30 however the lads woke up at 06.00 to visit the ZimGym, outside near to the breakfast table. After that I can tell you I do NOT miss my gym sessions. the game was to cards and wholebody workouts. The set the cards are in dictates the exercises you do and the repetitions. After that we had a tasty breakfast of fruit, toast, porridge scrambled egg. After that we got ready and set off for our schools for the daily, but last, coaching sessions. My team are the best because of my coaching! they're terrible!)  As we were preparing for the big tournament tomorrow we had to pick our three teams. This caused a bit of upset however we have our star player Eolann who has been taught the 'hard line' by Sami. After coaching we went to the Old People's Home and finished off the painting (see pictures below)   Please ask parents to comment on the blog!    ETHAN

    Oh my kids I’m blown away by the things you are achieving on this amazing trip.! The photos are a great reminder to us what fun you are having and delivering something truly rewarding every day - just heart warming to see in the photos how you much you enjoy spending time with these children, I’m sure it’s not so easy during the games. Dylan we miss you so much, Dad wants you to know how proud he is of you - we’re still in Crete for 5 days and I’m now counting down the days until we see you.     Hi all from Cornwall, where the weather is not anything like Zimbabwe! We nearly didn't make it to Cornwall as Izzy had to go to A and E as she cut her head open on the attic door! Luckily all fine though.... Good luck with the tournament tomorrow, it sounds like being in charge of the games will be a challenge! Now you know what teaching is like George - you can appreciate the need for a 6.5% pay rise !Miss you lots and am very jealous of all your adventures! Love "pop of colour" xxx

    Sorry we haven't commented for a few days - just back from few days in Selsey. The blogs and photos are just the updates we need. (Starting to miss you now!). Well done on the coaching and the decorating/gardening. Good job by the look of the photos. Love the top photo of you too. Your smile says it all. Guess it wasn't that big during the gym session though.
    All ok here. Flo has finally made it out to Turkey and started with her own group today so she's happy. Ruby-do cat is definitely missing you and keeping your bed warm. Everyone sends their love. Keep on smiling and making us proud. You are all amazing. We love you x

    Well done Ethan, you are doing great work with the children and helping the communities. Apols for not commenting regularly, as we weren't sure if you were reading them. Some family history, your Great G'Pa Harry worked up in Ndola in the Copper Belt Mining area and Great G'Pa Ogilvie lived in Harare for many years. I worked further upstream (west) near Mucusso. So you are right in the middle of that triangle! I hope the tournament goes well and you enjoy the falls (stay safe!!) love, Dad, Chewy, Leia and Hazel.

    We're very impressed with the pictures of your decorating work! And now that I see you can mix cement you can help with the front pathway! And we're really loving the all the blogs and pictures! We're thinking of spending an extra day en France but don't worry Fraser and Sami, we'll be back in time to pick you both up! Keep up the good work and I'm sorry I forgot to send any cameras with you Fraser but hopefully your mates will have lots of pics you can share and you will always have your memories! Farewell Zimbabwe!

This morning I woke up at 6:30 thanks to Bens amazing wake up calls. I had scrambled egg sandwiches and jam on toast. After breakfast we went to the school I was coaching at and held a tournament for all the schools that we have been coaching. We got there and set up the pitches. Sami and I taught the kids the Haka. I refereed some of the games on my pitch, however  I may have missed a couple of offsides. None of the teams from my school made it to the final the tournament was very competitive! Cassie's team won and were very happy! There were a few tears from the team that came second! After the tournament we went to the camp we were staying in and packed up quickly then had lunch for the last time in Zimbabwe.  We said our goodbyes and headed to the border back into Zambia.  Good evening ladies and gentlemen!! Today we present to you the 2nd to last blog of Zambia, so we are expecting plenty of comments (cough cough, the Donaldson's, you have been very quiet!!) We started off with a late breakfast...it was supposed to be at 7:30 but was served at 8:20! All the boys had a lazy sleep in because Ben, their alarm, ignored his own alarm and did not wake them up! At 10am we set of for our big trip to Vicky Falls, it was nice and moist...! We got up close and personal with the baboons! We began by hiking down to the Boiling Pot which was a torturous hike through the baboon ridden jungle up and over rocks and through streams! It was all worth it as we were treated to stunning views of the bottom of the falls!! After we hiked back up through the baboon ridden jungle we crossed the Knife-Edge Bridge and broke into uncontrollable laughter as Amelie stacked it on the bridge which we caught from multiple camera angles!!
